In an effort to establish sustainable roadmaps of bio-energy development for Malaysia and other ASEAN countries, an event titled Stakeholders Meeting: Sustainable Bio-economy Futures From Malaysia to Southeast Asia was held on 31 July 2018. This meeting serves as a high-impact platform bringing together researchers and multi-stakeholders from academy, government, and industry, to champion sustainable roadmaps of bio-energy development for Malaysia and beyond through systematic data consolidation between agencies & stakeholders.
Organised by University of Technology, Malaysia (UTM), Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM), and International Institute of Applied System Analysis (IIASA), the event was attended by local experts from various ministries, academia, industries, and organisations, including ASEAN Centre of Energy (ACE).
Taking the leadership role of this project is Prof. Ir. Dr. Haslenda Hashim, one of the current ASEAN Science and Technology Fellows from Malaysia, who is also the Deputy Director of Process Systems Engineering Centre (PROSPECT), and the Head of Green Energy and Environmental Planning (GREEN), University of Technology, Malaysia.
